World of Difference

World of Difference was a three-part obs doc series about international development for Channel 4 by Redbird Productions.

I series produced, and I ran a national competition to find three contrasting groups of young people who had partnerships in place with NGOs and international communities.  They each applied for £10,000 to make a major transformation to the lives of local people.

In the Gambia this meant a collaboration to create an education campaign about HIV.  In Bolivia the money was spent on an infrastructure project, to build wells and greenhouses in The Andes.  And in Cambodia the £10k paid for schooling for girls who would otherwise have to leave education.  

I produced and edit produced the docs in the Gambia and Bolivia, and exec produced the Cambodia film. I production managed the entire series with a budget of £200k. The documentaries continue to be shown at
